BACTA NW Donation

On Tuesday, 9 July, 2013, BACTA North West Region’s chairman Chris Manion and committee member Dave Ellwood, presented a cheque for £5,000 to the Children’s Adventure Farm Trust (CAFT) based in Lymm, Cheshire – being monies raised at the region’s annual Christmas charity ball.
CAFT provides a variety of programmes for terminally ill, disabled and disadvantaged children in the north-west, and relies solely on the support and donations of individual organisations. A week spent at the farm broadens the children’s horizons; boosts their confidence and provides wonderful memories.
Chris said: ‘It is an honour to make this presentation to such a worthy cause, knowing that the generosity of BACTA North West Region members can make a real difference for the children.
‘It is the intention to provide on-going support for CAFT throughout my chairmanship of the region.’
Alistair Laing, CAFT charity relationship manager said: ‘The Children’s Adventure Farm has been designed in order that all children, regardless of ability, can have the holiday of their lives and for many, this will be first time they will have experienced the freedom and independence such a facility can provide.’
BACTA is the only trade association representing the amusements’ industry in the UK, with membership including amusement machine manufacturers and seaside arcades. BACTA supports national charities and regional charities through a variety of fund-raising initiatives.
